As the manhunt for right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk’s murder accused continues, a new set of images shows the concrete rooftop where the sniper is said to have positioned himself.

The images that appeared in US media show aerial images of the Utah Valley University’s Losee Centre, where the assassin is believed to have taken a single shot with a bolt-action rifle that struck Kirk’s neck. The images also showed imprints of the sniper’s body and five orange evidence flags placed by the police near it to mark the position.

It is evident from the image that the killer had a clear line of sight to the white pop-up tent where Kirk sat to address the over 3,000 people who gathered at the event.

Another video released by the police shows the suspect, clad in black and Converse sneakers, running across the roof of a building and jumping down the side of it. The person allegedly left a handprint, a forearm print, and a footprint.

The videos were released by the FBI to help the public identify the suspect. The agency has also released the photo on X of an individual wearing a hat, sunglasses, jeans, and a black shirt with a picture of the American flag and a bald eagle on it.

Manhunt continues

The manhunt for the suspect continues as the FBI and the Utah Department of Public Safety officials grope in the dark. According to Utah DPS commissioner Beau Mason, the shooter could have left the state. "We have no idea," he said. "We're exploring leads for individuals out of state and individuals who live close by. We literally have persons of interest, tips that are coming in on the tip line, that are spanning far and wide," he said.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest. The authorities said they recovered the firearm used in the shooting in a wooded area, which they described as a "high-powered, bolt-action rifle."
