The FAA said that the 173 passengers on board the Boeing 737 MAX 8 were evacuated and taken to the terminal by bus.

American Airlines put out a statement that said that the aircraft experienced a maintenance issue with one of its landing gear systems before taking off.

The statement said that the customers and crew got off the plane safely and that the “aircraft was taken out of service to be inspected by the maintenance team.”
