A video has gone viral on the internet that showed Ukrainian drones targeting survivors of an elite Russian tank unit that got decapitated by an active minefield in the Kursk Oblast region.
According to Ukraine, it was an assault group from the Russian 155th Naval Infantry Brigade that was trapped by the minefield laid by the Ukrainian 47th Mechanized Brigade before attack drones were dispatched to target survivors. The videos showed the Russian forces flying Soviet flags on top of their tanks being hit in the western part of the country that is being contested by Ukrainian forces.
Kyiv claimed that the Russian 155th Naval Infantry Brigade sent more than a dozen tanks and over 100 men in a counter-offensive against its forces. However, the 47th Mechanized Brigade was waiting and once the mines did its job by taking out most tanks, it was only a matter of time before the surviving Russians were forced to flee.

The video showed a Russian soldier trying to get away from a dismantled tank that had the Red Soviet flag on its top. The man was seen taking a few steps in the snow before falling down on his back. Seconds later, he is hit by an attack drone that causes an explosion impossible to survive.
Ukrainian forces hate the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade as they had executed in cold blood nine drone operators in October, Forbes said in a report. Their joint efforts with North Korean forces to push back Ukrainians from Kyov have not succeeded either, the report added.
According to Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky his forces invaded Kursk in August because they needed to control certain Russian territories to trade for occupied Ukrainian territory in the event of a ceasefire.
