The Israel Defence Forces said on Friday that it had killed a senior Hezobollah leader in an airstrike in Lebanon.

The leader of the Iran-backed militia killed in the airstrike was identified as Ali Abed Akhsan Naim.

Who is Ali Abed Akhsan Naim?

Ali Abed Akhsan Naim was the deputy commander of Hezbollah's rocket and missiles unit. IDF said he was responsible for plotting and carrying out attacks using heavy-warhead rockets against Israeli civilians. 

He was killed in a drone attack while he was in his travelling in his vehicle in Lebanon's southern town of Bazouriye.

6 Hezbollah operatives killed in Aleppo

In a separate incident, IDF also carried out airstrikes in Syria's Aleppo, killing 42 people, including six Hezbollah operatives.

At least 254 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon so far, said reports.
