After fierce bidding, with Australian all-rounder Cameron Green emerging as the biggest star of the IPL auction. After an intense bidding war, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured Green for a staggering ₹25.20 crore, making him the most expensive buy of the auction.

The bidding for Green began at a base price of ₹2 crore, with Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings joining KKR in a heated contest. Rajasthan bowed out once the price crossed ₹13.60 crore, but Chennai entered late to push the bid higher. Ultimately, KKR refused to relent and sealed the deal at ₹25.20 crore.

Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana was the second-most expensive player, also picked up by KKR for ₹18 crore, rising sharply from his ₹2 crore base price. Pathirana initially attracted bids from Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants before Kolkata stepped in decisively.

Among Indian uncapped players, Karthik Sharma (wicketkeeper) and Prashanth Veer (all-rounder) emerged as the biggest earners. Both were bought by Chennai Super Kings for a combined ₹14.20 crore, having entered the auction at a base price of ₹30 lakh each.

South African batter David Miller was acquired by Delhi Capitals at his base price of ₹2 crore. Indian all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer generated strong interest and was eventually picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for ₹7 crore, while Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga joined Lucknow Super Giants for ₹2 crore.

Wicketkeepers in Demand

 

In the wicketkeepers’ category,

  • Quinton de Kock (South Africa, ₹1 crore) went to Mumbai Indians,

  • Ben Duckett (England, ₹2 crore) was signed by Delhi Capitals, and

  • Finn Allen (New Zealand, ₹2 crore) joined Kolkata Knight Riders—all at base price.

Fast Bowlers and Spinners

 

Among fast bowlers, Jacob Duffy (New Zealand) was snapped up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for ₹2 crore, while Anrich Nortje (South Africa) went to Lucknow Super Giants at the same price.

In the spin department, Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was secured by Rajasthan Royals for ₹7.20 crore after a bidding duel involving Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein joined Chennai Super Kings for ₹2 crore.

Uncapped Players Make Headlines

 

The uncapped all-rounder Aqib Dar (India) drew major attention, landing a ₹8.40 crore deal with Delhi Capitals. Shivang Kumar joined Sunrisers Hyderabad at base price.
Among uncapped wicketkeepers, Mukul Chaudhary (₹2.60 crore) was bought by Lucknow Super Giants, while Tejaswi Singh (₹3 crore) went to Kolkata Knight Riders.

In the uncapped fast bowlers’ category, Ashok Sharma joined Gujarat Titans for ₹90 lakh, Naman Tiwari went to Lucknow Super Giants for ₹1 crore, and Sushant Mishra was bought by Rajasthan Royals for ₹90 lakh.
Among uncapped spinners, Yash Raj Punj and Vignesh Puthur joined Rajasthan Royals, while Prashanth Solanki went to Kolkata Knight Riders.Renowned anchor Mallika Sagar led the auction proceedings.
