The UAE simplifies visa rules with more benefits to visitors

Job visa will be offered to young talents and skilled professionals

The UAE has comprehensively revised the visa rules to provide more benefits to visitors and residents.

The new VISA policy announced on Monday aims to accelerate the country's progress. The amendments, aimed at attracting more talent to the UAE from around the world, have been approved by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, the government media office clarified.

According to the new Visa regime, parents are allowed to sponsor their sons up to the age of 25. Currently, the law only allows boys up to the age of 18 to sponsor.

The Golden Visa system will be expanded to provide better opportunities for new job seekers and professionals. The new scheme does not require a host or sponsor. Major improvements include facilitating entry requirements for all visa types and offering flexible visa terms that meet the needs of visitors and the purpose of the visit.

In addition, all entry visas are available for single or multiple entry and can be renewed for the same period (s) and are valid for 60 days from the date of issue. All visas will be available for multiple visits. The visa can be renewed for the same period as it was originally allowed.

Job Visa

This visa is being introduced with the aim of attracting young talents and skilled professionals to the country. The new five-year Green Visa system aims to bring the best professionals to the country. The visa is also open to new graduates from the top 500 universities in the world. The minimum level of education should be a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in the UAE. The visa is also available to those working in levels one, two and three, as announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Indigenization. There are certain other conditions, including the salary.

Family Visa

Permission can be granted for parents to sponsor sons up to 25 years. Currently, the law only allows sponsorship up to the age of 18. Resident permits are regularly issued to children with any type of disability.

Business Visa

This visa is granted for business purpose and does not need a sponsor or host. The aim is to attract investors and entrepreneurs to the country. Investors can obtain a business visa and come to the UAE to look for investment opportunities.

Tourist Visa

In addition to regular tourist visas, a five-year multi-entry tourist visa that are valid for five years are now available. This allows the person to return to the UAE several times and can stay in the country for up to 90 consecutive days but it can be extended once more. The maximum period of stay in the country is up to 180 days a year. Another requirement is the proof of having a bank balance of $ 4,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency for a period of six months. 

Temporary employment

Holders of a temporary work assignment, such as probation testing or project-based work can receive a temporary visa. This requires a temporary employment contract or a letter from the employer stating the purpose of the visit and proof of fitness to work.

Studies or training

This visa is available for students, trainees, or participants in internship programs. They should submit a letter from the organisation detailing the study, training, internship, along with the duration of the programme. Universities, educational or research institutions in the country or in government or private institutions may sponsor the applicant.

Visiting relatives or friends

A visitor can avail this visa if he is a relative or friend of a UAE citizen or resident. The advantage is that it does not require a sponsor or host.
