In view of rising Omicron cases, passengers arriving at Dubai airport must have to present a negative COVID-19 Rapid PCR test done at an approved facility. The test report taken not more than 48 hours prior to the time of departure must be presented at check-in counter of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) upon arrival.
Passengers are required to present the report for a COVID-19 Rapid PCR test conducted at the departure airport within six hours of departure. Validity should be calculated from time the sample was collected, prior to departure from an approved health facility, said Emirates airline on its official website.
There are specific requirements for passengers travelling from the following countries: Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Sudan, United Kingdom, Vietnam and Zambia.
The certificate must be printed in English or Arabic and must carry QR code linked to the website of the approved testing agency for verification. Handwritten, SMS or digital certificates are not accepted.
If you show symptoms of COVID-19 or travelling from specific locations, you may be asked to undergo another COVID-19 test upon arirval at Dubai airport.
Children who are below 12 and persons who have a moderate or severe disability are exempted from taking the test.
Passenger must have a valid international medical insurance that covers COVID-19.
NHS COVID-19 test certificates are not accepted for travellers from the UK.
UAE's National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have also announced a ban on unvaccinated citizens from travelling abroad from January 10. For those who are fully vaccinated, a booster shot needs to be taken.
