On Woosung Street of Hong Hong's old-school neighbourhood stands a blue refrigerator. Most people walking on the street might be heading to one of its popular eateries. Some others might be walking towards the blue refrigerator with biscuits, tins of food, instant noodles. The fridge painted blue even holds towels, socks and blankets for those who might need them.

Ahmen Khan, founder of a sports foundation on the same street found the refrigerator at a nearby refuse collection point and painted it blue. Khan said he was inspired to create a community refrigerator after he watched a film about others doing the same. Khan said the fridge represents dignity, it is like when you go home and open your fridge to get food. A sign posted on the fridge reads, 'Give what you can give, take what you need to take.'
A donor who stopped by to place biscuits, instant noodles and snacks, told AP, “I think doing good deeds does not need to be on a large scale. A small act can already show our kindness, and contribute to this world.”
