"Hanuman Ansh" has become one of the most remarkable box-office success stories of 2026, rising from an almost unnoticed opening to a historic blockbuster through strong audience word-of-mouth.

On Day 39, the film collected ₹8.25 crore net in India across 9,198 shows. This took its total India gross collection to ₹263.30 crore and its India net collection to ₹222.88 crore. Overseas, the film earned another ₹2 crore on Day 39, bringing its overseas gross total to ₹16.50 crore. Its worldwide gross has now reached ₹279.80 crore, per figures reported by Sacnilk.

What makes the film's performance extraordinary is how slowly it began. Made on a tiny budget of just ₹2 crore, "Hanuman Ansh" opened on 7 August 2026 with only ₹10 lakh on its first day. During its first two weeks, the film remained largely unnoticed and collected just ₹1.48 crore.

Everything changed in the third week. Social media platforms, including Instagram and TikTok, became major drivers of interest as short videos, positive reviews, and audience recommendations began spreading rapidly. The film's third-week collection jumped to ₹10.4 crore. On Day 24 alone, it earned ₹12.75 crore — far more than its entire first two weeks combined.

The growing demand forced theatre owners to increase the number of screens and shows. By Day 39, the film was playing across 9,198 shows and had established an unusually strong run with limited drops in daily collections.

The film's worldwide gross of ₹279.80 crore also places it among the biggest Bollywood successes of 2026. It is currently behind "Dhurandhar 2", which has crossed ₹1,800 crore, and "Border 2", at ₹464.50 crore, putting "Hanuman Ansh" in third place. It has also moved ahead of "Mirzapur: The Movie" and "Bhooth Bangla".

However, its biggest achievement may be profitability. "Dangal", for example, earned roughly 30 times its budget, while "Baahubali 2" achieved around seven times and "Dhurandhar 2" about 14 times. In comparison, "Hanuman Ansh", with around ₹2 crore budget and ₹279.80 crore worldwide gross, has generated roughly — wait for it — 140 times its production cost!

Written, directed and produced by Vishal Chaturvedi under his banner, Swambhu Media Network, "Hanuman Ansh" is based on his book "Divine Detour: That Changed My Life", which chronicles the life of the Hindu guru and Hanuman devotee, Neem Karoli Baba.
