According to findings come from a Pew Research Centre survey of 14 advanced economies in North America, Europe and Asia, when asked if their own country handled COVID well, 73 per cent agreed and 27 per cent disagreed. The figures in the UK and the US were at 46 per cent and 47 per cent respectively.

55 per cent Japanese thought their country handed the pandemic well, while 95 per cent of citizens from Denmark thought their country handled COVID-19 well. Spaniards also didn’t think much of their government as only 54 per cent of them felt the government handled the virus well.

Australia and Canada came in second and third in the poll with 94 and 88 per cent people saying that their governments handled the pandemic well.

When it came to the question of whether the citizens felt their country was more united during the pandemic, only 2 out of 10 Americans seemed to think so.
