In difficult times as these, small gestures can make a big difference. Surely, delivery man Tim Joseph felt heart warmed when eight-year-old Tallulah learnt sign language so that she could wish him a good morning.

The little girl from Ashton-Under-Lyne, in Greater Manchester, had been seeing Tim drive around delivering packages a few times a week in the neighbourhood.

To show appreciation for the hard work he was doing as an essential worker, she drew a rainbow with a ‘thank you’ written below it and gave it to Tim, who proudly hung it in his van.

Over the weeks, the duo developed a friendship of sorts. And Tallulah, wanting to wish her friend, who is deaf, a great day, learned sign language.

Proud mom Amy Roberts shared the video on Twitter where the girl is seen wishing Tim a great day and Tim acknowledging it with a big smile and a thumbs up.

Sharing the video on Twitter, Amy wrote: “This is our Hermes delivery man, we see him 1 or 2 times a week, the start of lockdown Tallulah drew him a #thankyou. He still has it proudly on show in his van, they have built up quite a friendship over these last few weeks #proudmum. A friendship built in lockdown in a world where you can be anything #BeKind.”
