Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has moved her wedding date yet again—for the third time!
Frederiksen, who thought she has finally found a date for her wedding, had to postpone it for an EU summit.
The COVID-19 pandemic has played spoilsport in many wedding plans and it looks like even state heads aren’t immune. 41-year-old Frederiksen is the leader of Denmark's centre-left Socialist Democratic party and the youngest PM of the country.
According to figures by the John Hopkins University, Demark has reported a total of 12,836 coronavirus cases and 603 deaths.
"I am really looking forward to marrying this fantastic man," Frederiksen wrote in a Facebook post alongside a photo of herself and her fiance Bo Tengberg.
"But I have to do my work and take care of Denmark's interests. So we have to change plans again.
“But obviously it can’t be that easy, and now there is a council meeting in Brussels called, exactly on that Saturday in July when we had planned to marry,” she wrote.
The European Council meeting on July 17-18, which will be held in Brussels in the presence of the 27 heads of the member states, will actually have leaders present at the meeting since the coronavirus lockdown began months ago.
The leaders are convening to discuss a recovery plan for the EU economy and prepare a new budget for the EU in response to the coronavirus crisis.
