Former Kerala Blasters striker Mark Sifneos might earn the rare distinction of being the first player to don two different jerseys in the same season of the Indian Super League, if reports are to be believed.

Days after the Kerala-based club and the Dutch player parted ways, it is learnt that the Goan outfit is trying to rope in the 21-year-old as a replacement for their Spanish striker Adrian Colunga. FC Goa have denied the reports, though.

Colunga had spent a major part of this season on the bench, reportedly, because of a tiff with coach Sergio Lobera. The 33-year-old, who has a vast La Liga experience, has scored one goal this season. With strikers Ferran Corominas (10 goals) and Manuel Lanzarote (7 goals) in prime form, FC Goa haven't had to use the services of the Spanish striker.

In fact, the team was in talks with a Moroccan striker, but the deal did not fall through. So, the Goan outfit has set its sights on Sifneos, who, reportedly, left Blasters citing injury. There were also rumours that he was eyeing a place in the Dutch national team and hence the hasty departure.

Sifneos left RKC Waalwijk to join the Blasters. The team's former coach Rene Meulensteen, also from the Netherlands, was one of the main reasons for Sifneos to turn up for the Kerala outfit. Muelensteen was replaced midway through the tournament by Englishman David James following a string of poor results. With four goals, Sifneos was the joint top-scorer with Iain Hume for the Blasters. Muelensteen had favoured Sifneos to Hume but once James took over the reins, the tables turned.

FC Goa are fourth on the points table while Kerala Blasters are seventh, in the 10-team tournament.
