Manchester United vs Real Madrid on the cards as Juventus can't afford Sandro Tonali transfer fee?

If they are to sell Tonali, Newcastle will be expecting a transfer sum amounting to no less than €100 million -- which is astronomical for Juventus but manageable for Arsenal, Real Madrid and the Manchester clubs

Newcastle United are closer to letting Sandro Tonali go in the summer, but a move to his native Italy seems highly unlikely now. Juventus, who are interested in former AC Milan star Tonali, have now been sidelined as they cannot meet the asking price.

According to the latest report, Newcastle United will not compromise on their demands for bidders, as they are expecting no less than €100 million (roughly £84 million) for their CDM. The sum is beyond what the Turin club can afford—effectively making it a three-horse race between Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Arsenal.

Newcastle are hopeful of keeping their 25-year-old Italian international, but if he is hell-bent on leaving, then they will want their full demands to be met. While Arsenal made their interest in Tonali clear in January, Manchester United are also interested in the midfielder.

With Casemiro leaving, he could be the perfect replacement in the heart of the Old Trafford midfield. The profile fits the club's needs perfectly, and it has already been confirmed that United are looking to bring in at least two new signings to further strengthen their midfield ahead of next season.

Unlike Juventus, none of the three sides should have a problem raising €100 million. There were earlier reports that the Gunners are open to selling Martin Ødegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Ben White, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly in the hope of raising funds for future signings. Real Madrid, who are in dire need of reinforcement in their defensive department, may still bid for Tonali. Only time will tell which European major will manage to sign him, if he ultimately decides to leave St James' Park.
