The tensions between India and Pakistan may affect the broadcast of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the coming days, reports suggest. According to reports, the Pakistani government has decided to send back the entire Indian crew members involved in the tournament. Cameramen, engineers and production managers are among some of the key roles that Indian nationals are entrusted with by the PSL showrunners.
After India decided to suspend providing visas to Pak nationals, Islamabad on Thursday came up with a tit-for-tat response, giving a deadline for all Indians currently in Pakistan to head back home. So, the experienced broadcast crew from India employed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is said to be replaced by native operators. PCB and the conglomerate which had rights to the PSL are running from pillar to post to find the best replacements available for these Indian technicians.
More than two dozen men involved in production and broadcast-related jobs of the PSL come from India, news agency PTI quoted a PSL source as saying. "Since more than two dozen of the production and broadcast crew of the PSL, included Indian nationals. Steps are being taken to replace them. The broadcast and production crew includes engineers, production managers, cameramen, player-tracking experts (all Indian nationals), who ensure a smooth coverage of the PSL."
These Indian citizens have also been told to restrict their movements until they can leave Pakistan. The National Security Council after a meeting in Islamabad, on Thursday, announced that all Indian nationals in Pakistan should leave the country in the next 48 hours.
Pakistani terrorists are believed to be behind the killing of 26 Indian nationals, who were visiting Kashmir's Pahalgam area. The incident led to escalated diplomatic tensions between the two nations, who have not had the best relations for a while now.
