Paris Olympics 2024: Indian shooters get eliminated in qualification of 10m air rifle mixed event

Kazhakstan took home their first medal of the Paris Olympics on Saturday. It won bronze in the 10m air rifle mixed event in which Indian shooters got eliminated.

The Indian shooters got eliminated in the qualification stage itself. Indian shooters Ramita Jindal and Arjun Babuta finished sixth with a total score of 628.7, while Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh ended at 12th place with an aggregate score of 626.3, PTI reported.

Indian duo Ramita and Arjun Babuta came close and were placed fifth with three shots remaining but fell 1.0 point short of the medal round cut-off, the publication reported.

In the second relay, Babuta enjoyed a fine start and had a sequence that read 10.5, 10.6, 10.5, 10.9, while Ramita managed 10.2, 10.7, 10.3, 10.1. Their effort took the team into the top 8.

Shooters from China, Korea and Kazakhstan dominated the qualifications. China’s Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao got first place with a score of 632.2. Korea’s pair of Keum Jihyeon and Park Hajun at 631.2These two teams will play in the gold medal match, Sportstar reported.
