All is not well in the Jadeja household. Anirudhsinh Jadeja, father of Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, alleged that his daughter-in-law and BJP MLA Rivaba successfully created a rift in the family. Later his son publicly denied all claims levelled by his father and reportedly demanded him to stop tarnishing the image of his wife before the public.

Ravindra Jadeja's wife Rivaba is the sitting BJP MLA from Gujarat's Jamnagar North constituency. Interestingly, Rivaba's closest rival in the Assembly polls was Congress candidate Naynaba Jadeja -- her husband's sister and Anirudhsinh's daughter.

Here is the 'Jadeja vs Jadeja' story so far.

What did R Jadeja's father said?

Anirudhsinh Jadeja, father of ace India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja claimed that he is not on good terms with his son and daughter-in-law. In an interview, Anirudhsinh Jadeja reportedly said that Ravindra Jadeja and his wife Rivaba don't even talk to him over the phone. His son never comes and meets him despite residing in the same city, he reportedly added and blamed Rivaba for causing the rift.

"We don’t call them, and they don’t call us. The issues started after two or three months of their marriage. I currently live alone in Jamnagar, while Ravindra resides in a separate bungalow of his own. He lives in the same city, but I don’t get to see him. I don’t know what magic his wife has done on him," the Indian Express quoted Anirudhsinh Jadeja as saying.

Anirudhsinh further accused his daughter-in-law of demanding his family properties. His son and wife have also denied him any chance to interact with his grandchild in over five years he alleged.

"I don’t want to hide anything. We haven’t even seen the face of our granddaughter in five years. Within three months of the marriage, she told me that everything should be transferred to her name. She created a rift in our family. She didn’t want the family and desired an independent life," Anirudhsinh reportedly said during the interview.

R jadeja reacts, defends wife

Later on Friday afternoon, Ravindra Jadeja publicly defended his wife and denied allegations levelled against her by his father. In a statement in Gujarati, the 35-year-old said the interview was "scripted" and was made to tarnish the image of his wife.

“The things mentioned in the dubious interview with Divya Bhaskar are meaningless and false. Those are one-sided comments that I deny them. The attempt to tarnish the image of my wife is improper and condemnable. I too have a lot to say but it is better that I don’t reveal those things in public,” Jadeja's post read.
