Praggnanandhaa beats world champion Magnus Carlsen for 2nd time this year

R. Praggnanandhaa, 16-year-old Indian Grandmaster, stunned World Champion Magnus Carlsen on Friday at the Chessable Masters online rapid chess tournament. This is the second time in a span of three months that Praggnanandhaa defeated the Norwegian.

According to reports, the contest between Carlsen and Praggnanandhaa was headed towards a draw but Carlsen made a big mistake on his 40th move. Carlsen is now at the third spot with a score of 15 while Praggnanandhaa is in the fifth spot with 12 points.

The teenage chess prodigy had defeated Carlsen in the eighth round of the Airthings Masters, an online rapid chess tournament, in January.
