Ravindra Jadeja is having a dream run in the first Test of India's two-match series against Sri Lanka. After scoring a career-best 175 not out on Saturday, Jadeja ran through Sri Lanka's middle order in the visitors' first innings on Sunday to take his 10th five wicket haul.

Sri Lanka were dismissed for 174, 400 runs behind India's first innings total of 574 for 8. India decided to enforce the follow-on, in an attempt to dismiss Sri Lanka to wrap up the match quickly.

Sri Lanka began day 3 at their overnight score of 108 for 4. Charith Asalanka and Puthum Nissanka took the score to 161, when Jasprit Bumrah had Asalanka leg before wicket for 29. The stand of 58 runs between Asalanka and Nissanka was the highest partnership for Sri Lanka in the innings. After they were separated, Sri Lanka collapsed, losing five wickets for just 13 more runs.

Nissanka was left stranded on 61, the only fifty-plus score for Sri Lanka.

At lunch on day three, Sri Lanka were 10 for 1, with Nissanka (1) and Dimuth Karunaratne (8) at the crease. Ravichandran Ashwin had Lahiru Thirimanne caught by Rohit Sharma for duck.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, Jadeja is the first player in 49 years to take five wickets in an innings and score 150 or more in a Test.
