Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar in his latest YouTube video took a jibe at former India opener Virender Sehwag, quipping that the fast bowler has more money than the Indian player has hair on his head.

Akhtar was responding to comments made by Sehwag in an interview in 2016, when he said that the former Pakistan bowler praised India only for money. Sehwag went on to say that Akhtar praised Indian cricket and its cricketers as he needs the business, but would not have heaped such praise during his playing days.

In the six-minute video, Akhtar says that lot of importance is given to his words as there are many who understand what he talks about and others who don't. He says that there are a lot of cricketers and YouTubers in Pakistan who praise the Indian team when they perform well. Akhtar maintained that it is natural as India is the number one team in the world and Kohli is the number one batsman. He added that he had criticised India when they didn't do well in the first ODI against Australia.

“If I'm giving analyses on matter regarding cricket, what is wrong in that? I've played for Pakistan for 15 years. I'm not famous because I made videos on YouTube. I played for 15 years to become Shoaib Akhtar. I was the fastest bowler in the world,” Akhtar remarked.

Citing the interview in which Sehwag made the comments on Akhtar, he said that the former India player is a casual person and speaks in a non-serious manner. “He said that I praise India because I need the money. See, it's up to Allah. Money comes from Allah, not thanks to India.”

“In response to Sehwag, I'd say I have more money than the hair he has on his head,” Akhtar quipped.

“I'm saying this in a funny way. Please don't take it seriously, Viru. It's a joke. Let's keep it light.”

He asked that people understand that he is giving analyses on cricket and does not want to speak about India's policies. “I'm a fan of Steven Smith, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam as well. Please try to understand that I'm just giving my analysis. The fame and money we've earned comes from Allah.”
