The Premier League season is half-way through and the table results have made the football world to believe in hope. Liverpool FC are leading the pack with 61 points followed by Manchester City, Leicester city and Chelsea in second third and fourth place respectively. With about 16-17 games to go, Premier League's all-time record goal scorer Alan Shearer predicts Liverpool to win the league. “I don’t see it being won now by anyone else other than Liverpool. They’ve been superb and pretty much have two hands on the trophy already, they just can’t put it above their heads yet”, he said speaking to reporters during a visit to Chichester to promote a new fitness initiative at Westgate Leisure.  While predicting Liverpool to win the table isn't much of a revelation, what has gotten fans talking is his prediction for Manchester United. The Reds don't feature in the top four according to the former Newcastle attacker.  Manchester united are currently fifth in the league table five points behind Chelsea after playing twenty two games.

With Liverpool fourteen points and a game clear off Manchester City who are second, there is no doubt as to who will finish top of the table. Manchester City and Leicester City are strong favorites to finish second and third.  Tottenham, Wolves, Chelsea, Manchester united and Sheffield united are in a tight fight for the fourth position in the table, but Shearer believes that the most favorable one is Chelsea.

Liverpool FC, with 61 points in hand, will face Manchester united this Sunday in a bid to continue their winning streak while Manchester city will  face off against Sheffield. Chelsea will face Newcastle at St. James Park on Saturday to cement their current position.
