Wednesday was a bad day for India at the Korea Open as Number 8 seed Saina Nehwal retired hurt in her opening match at Incheon against Kim Ga Eun of South Korea on Wednesday. Saina was trailing 21-19, 18-21 and 1-8 against Eun,ranked no 24, when she retired.

A week ago, Saina had suffered a first-round exit at the China Open.
