Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes won the 1,000th Formula One grand prix on Sunday at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai International Circuit after taking the lead from teammate Valtteri Bottas.
Bottas finished second a little more than 6.5 seconds behind Hamilton and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel was third to make the podium. Hamilton is now leading the drivers' championship with 68 points.
Max Verstappen of Red Bull was fourth and Charles Leclerc in the second Ferrari was fifth.
This was Hamilton's sixth victory at the Chinese Grand Prix and second in a row this season.
The next race is in Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan on April 28.
