World number two Angelique Kerber suffered a humiliating loss going down 6-0, 6-2 in the fourth round to Danielle Collins of the US on Sunday at the Australian Open.

Collins, who is making her debut in the main draw at this Australian Open, wrapped up the match in under an hour to send Kerber packing.

After the match, Collins said that she had no fear facing Kerber. She asserted that though she hasn't won a grand slam match before this, it is “going to keep happening”.

Collins will face either Sloane Stephens or Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarterfinals.

Ashleigh Barty of Australia, in the meantime, stormed into the quarterfinals after defeating Maria Sharapova 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.

Sharapova won the first set, but faltered, despite some resistence, in the second and third sets to go down to the 22-year-old.

Barty will face Petra Kvitova in the quarterfinal.
