BYJU’s, India’s only unicorn edtech startup, has collaborated with Disney, the ever time favorite platform for kids, launching a new education app on June 6. The app targets kids in the age group of 6-8, providing a wide-variety of entertainment as well as academic opportunities.

“Excited to announce the launch of the Disney-Byju’s Early Learn app. Opening up the magical world of learning to young minds in a unique way!,” tweeted its chief product officer Ranjit Radhakrishnan. The app is available in India on Google Play Store, and has already achieved more than 10k installs with a rating of 4.9. It will be soon coming up in the Apple Play Store as well.

The app focuses on ‘learning by doing’ experience with digital worksheets and up-to-date feedbacks, enabling parents to track their children’s learning. It has numerous features such as animated videos, games, stories and interactive quizzes featuring characters from Disney including Lion King, Disney Princess, Frozen Cars and Toy Story.

The new app is expected to attract the young minds to the world of learning through a different choice of experience and activities that take them through their own interests. The app lets the kids choose their hike of quests, while the games help them in practicing what they have learnt. The app takes the kid through a concept oriented platform where each character relates to a particular concept of learning, based on the character’s story and the true story.

Commenting on the launch, Byju Raveendran, Founder and CEO, BYJU’S, said, “BYJU’S pedagogy and content expertise are enhanced by the compelling storytelling of Disney in this app and will give a strong head start to the way young children learn their first concepts in India.”

It’s the first attempt of Disney to turn into educational space. Both Disney and the Byju’s are said to share the revenue on the sales of the new product. Sources revealed that the product is getting ready to be launched in international markets, such as the US as well.
