Ahead of the scheduled opening of the Dubai station of the Etihad Rail, officially named Al Yalayis Station, ticket booking for passengers has opened. The first service from Dubai to Abu Dhabi will depart at 6.15 am on launch day.
The fare from Dubai to Abu Dhabi is set to start at AED 39 per person in the comfort section and AED 109 in the luxury section. Customers can choose Saver, Value or Flex fares with different change and refund conditions.
Passengers can buy tickets through Etihad Rail’s website and mobile app. Each trip will take one hour and four minutes, and there will be four trips a day.
10 stations
Ethihad rail is being rolled out in phases, with 10 stations expected to be operational across the UAE by the end of March 2027. Dubai’s Al Yalayis Station is located in Jumeirah Golf Estates, close to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, and is also around 30 minutes by road from Al Maktoum International Airport, depending on traffic.
The Dubai station will also connect to the Dubai Metro via a dedicated pedestrian bridge, which is under construction. This will link the station with Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line.
While only one station will be operational at the moment, Dubai will have four other stations in the later phase, including at Meydan.
The first passenger service of the Etihad Rail was rolled out on June 30, with the first train leaving Fujairah Station at 5.34 am and arriving at Mohamed bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi at 7.19 am. The trip of about 250 kilometres was covered in about 1 hour 45 minutes. Etihad Rail witnessed a sale of over 10,000 tickets on the first day of operations, with six passenger services scheduled on the inaugural day.
