The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology has launched Factory Forward UAE, a single platform to access technology assessments, expert support and financing under a new government initiative aimed at speeding up factory transformation.
The initiative comes in line with the leadership’s vision and directives to enhance the role of the industrial sector, achieve the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, and support technological transformation in industries through quality programmes and initiatives, according to government sources.
The initiative brings together programs and enablers that have contributed to supporting more than 700 factories, including the assessment of more than 620 factories through the Industrial Technology Transformation Index, reflecting the progress made in accelerating technological transformation and supporting the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology and the “Make in the UAE” initiative.
The platform is intended to support factories at different stages of their technology transformation, from assessing existing operations to identifying technologies and securing the expertise or funding required to implement them.
Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, said: “Thanks to the vision and guidance of the leadership, the UAE has succeeded in building a competitive industrial ecosystem based on investment in people, technology, and innovation, which enhances the country’s position as a global industrial hub and an attractive destination for industrial investments.”
