In yet another instance of Iranian missile fragments and shrapnel threatening life in Bahrain, three people were injured in the Muharraq area of Manama on Sunday, Arab media reports said. A university building in the area was also hit by the missile fragments, authorities confirmed. Muharraq is Bahrain's third-most populous city and served as its capital until it was replaced by Manama.
The fragments landed near the university facility, causing damage to parts of the building and surrounding property, Arab media reports said. The area was quickly secured by first responders, who also ensured the three injured individuals received medical attention.
The incident was reported not long after a drone attack by the Islamic Republic damaged a water desalination plant in Manama. Civilian infrastructure was also struck by the drones, which caused structural damage to the desalination plant. Hundreds of desalination plants sit along the Persian Gulf coast, and the region relies heavily on them for its water.
