No change in India's Hajj quota for 2026

There will be no change in India’s Hajj quota for 2026. As in the previous year, 1,75,025 pilgrims from India will be permitted. The India–Saudi Arabia Hajj agreement was signed by India’s Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, and Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah.

Both sides discussed coordination on arrangements to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience, including accommodation, transportation, air travel, Mashair Metro, and healthcare services.

Rijiju praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts to ensure the welfare of pilgrims, while Tawfiq Al-Rabiah assured that all necessary measures would be taken to make the Hajj pilgrimage more convenient.

“A significant step in deepening the IndiaSaudi Arabia ties. Held a Bilateral Meeting & signed the Bilateral Haj Agreement with H.E. Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj & Umrah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Haj Quota of 175,025 has been secured for Indian Pilgrims for 2026,” Rijiju said on X.

“Our discussions on Haj 2026 reaffirmed the shared commitment of both nations to ensure a safe, seamless & spiritually fulfilling journey for all Haj pilgrims. The visit marks an important milestone in the deepening partnership between India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the statement said.

Aseem R. Mahajan, Additional Secretary (Gulf), and Ram Singh, Joint Secretary (Hajj), Ministry of Minority Affairs, also took part in the discussions. The minister also held meetings with officials from the Indian Embassy and Consulate.

The delegation visited Hajj and Umrah facilities, including the Hajj terminal and metro stations. The minister also interacted with members of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia.
