A 26-year-old man was killed after his two-wheeler was hit by a car belonging to Tamil Nadu Minister Jagatheeswari in the Kattankulathur area near Chennai on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Iraiyanbu, died on the spot.

According to sources, Minister Jagatheeswari was travelling to Chennai on Monday morning to attend the Assembly session. She was travelling in an official government vehicle, followed by an escort vehicle and her personal car.

At the Kattankulathur junction, the Maruti Ertiga collided with Iraiyanbu’s Honda Dio, leaving him fatally injured.

The Maraimalai Nagar Traffic Police have seized the minister’s car and arrested the driver. Further investigation is underway.
