CCTV footage captured the final moments before Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan was shot dead outside a gym in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli.
The visuals showed Baliyan, 35, stepping out of the gym around 6:45 om on Wednesday with a kit bag in his hand. The shooting took place as he was walking towards his car.
Four unidentified men followed him and fired multiple shots as Baliyan approached his vehicle.
Gunshots were heard intermittently for about 25 seconds.
Panic gripped the area with people fleeing to safety.
According to police, 12 rounds were fired overall. The attackers used .30- and .32-calibre pistols, police sources said. The weapons are considered sophisticated firearms.
Police said that the singer was critically injured in the attack and was taken to a community health centre, where he was declared dead.
Police also believe that the assailants may have come to Shamli from Haryana.

The Gogi gang has claimed responsibility for the killing. In a social media post, the gang alleged that Baliyan was in contact with its rivals and had composed a song about an incident involving the gang.
Bholu Shahpuria's, who is reportedly associated with the gang, recently posted on Instagram, "This is just the beginning, everyone's turn will come."
