In light of the Onam rush, Southern Railway has decided to extend special train services between Bengaluru, Hubballi, and Kerala until the end of September.

As many as 112 Onam special train services were approved to manage the heavy rush during the festival season. The Southern Railway will operate 54 services, while other railway zones will operate the remaining 58.

It was initially announced that these services would be available during the peak festival period from August 14 to September 6, 2026. However, with the extension, members of the Keralite workforce working in other states can catch their breath and even extend their vacations.

The extended schedules for the special trains running between SMVT Bengaluru, Hubballi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kollam are :

  • Train 06523 (SMVT Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North Weekend Special): Will operate on Mondays from September 7 to 28
  • Train 06524 (Thiruvananthapuram North–SMVT Bengaluru Special): Will operate on Tuesdays from September 8 to 29
  • Train 06547 (SMVT Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North Special): Will operate on Wednesdays from September 2 to 23
  • Train 06548 (Thiruvananthapuram North–SMVT Bengaluru Special): Will operate on Thursdays from September 3 to 24
  • Train 06555 (SMVT Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North Special): Will operate on Fridays from September 4 to 25
  • Train 06556 (Thiruvananthapuram North–SMVT Bengaluru Special): Will operate on Sundays from September 6 to 27
  • Train 07313 (Hubballi–Kollam Special): Will operate on Sundays from September 6 to 27
  • Train 07314 (Kollam–Hubballi Special): Will operate on Mondays from September 7 to 28
