The tragic details of the car accident that claimed the life of Aban Ahmad, son of gangster Atiq Ahmad, reveal that Aban had pleaded for his life before succumbing to his death. As per local media reports, the accident was so horrific that the mangled remains of the vehicles pierced his body.
Initial probe reveals the accident happened due to speeding. The Hyundai Creta SUV lost control and crashed into a divider on the Kanpur-Jhansi Highway. Though there are reports that the vehicle hit a cow, it has not been confirmed.
Aban and his friend Mohammad Shakir alias Sonu tragically died in the fatal accident, while three others were seriously injured.
According to local media reports, all the doors of the vehicle were shut tight after the accident, and the people trapped inside were extricated after considerable effort.
Eyewitnesses reported that the front of the car was badly damaged, and engine parts had pierced Aban's head. The driver was in the same condition, and the duo had suffered fractures on both their legs and arms.
"My name is Aban... save me," Aban told eyewitnesses while he bled from the mouth. The driver was badly trapped in the steering wheel.
Police and forensic experts thoroughly searched the crashed SUV and found personal belongings scattered inside the vehicle. These include a pouch of Signature Gutkha, a pack of Classic cigarettes, a pair of shoes, four pairs of slippers, and two English books—one of which was the popular novel "The Stationery Shop of Tehran".
Four mobile phones have also been seized from the vehicle and police believe forensic analysis of the gadgets would reveal if there was any conspiracy behind the accident. Using call details, location data, and recent chats, police are trying to piece together the last movements of the car's occupants.
According to Jhansi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) BB GTS Murthy, preliminary investigations indicate that Zaid, the driver of the speeding SUV, suddenly experienced a brief dizziness or fainting spell, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
