The Delhi Police have launched a detailed investigation into the violence, stone-pelting and vandalism during Monday's protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar.
Police have already registered five FIRs, and efforts are underway to identify those involved in the unrest.
According to reports, investigators are examining more than 250 videos, including mobile phone recordings, CCTV footage, drone camera visuals and footage captured through police body-worn cameras, to identify the alleged miscreants.
Police are also examining whether those involved in the vandalism on Monday have previous criminal records and whether they reached Jantar Mantar as part of a pre-planned conspiracy.
The officials are investigating whether those involved in stone-pelting acted in an organised and coordinated manner by analysing digital evidence and communication patterns. They are also trying to find out whether WhatsApp or Telegram groups were created to mobilise people before the violence broke out in New Delhi.
The FIRs have been registered at the Parliament Street and Connaught Place police stations under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including those related to rioting, violence, vandalism, damage to public property, obstruction of government employees in the discharge of their duties, and the alleged snatching of police equipment such as jackets and helmets.
In a statement on Monday, police accused protesters of attacking security personnel with stones and other objects, attempting to breach barricades and vandalising government property. They claimed that more than 118 police personnel sustained injuries, while around 60 protesters were injured.
"During today's protest by CJP in the New Delhi area, the protesters displayed unruly, aggressive and violent behaviour. Despite repeated warnings and lawful directions issued by the police, they refused to disperse and deliberately violated the prohibitory orders in force," read the statement.
Police said more FIRs could be registered in connection with the incidents and added that efforts were underway to identify the accused using video footage.
