In a relief to the intense heat and humidity, Delhi-NCR is likely to be graced by rainfall on Saturday. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast an active monsoon phase for the next seven days with widespread rainfall across northwest, central and eastern India. 

West Madhya Pradesh is likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall on Saturday. In northwest India, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Uttarakhand from July 4 to 10. 

In Himachal Pradesh, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely from July 5 to 10. 

On Friday, a yellow alert was issued for Delhi and the surrounding areas. 

Cloudy skies, light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong surface winds of up to 40 to 50 kms per hour are expected throughout the day. 

According to the IMD, due to the active monsoon, intermittent rain is set to continue next week in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Gurugram, and other areas of the NCR. 

Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is predicted on Saturday in Delhi. 

On July 7, the maximum temperature is expected to be 35 degrees Celsius and thunderstorms and rain are likely to continue. 

As per IMD, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab are expected to receive widespread rainfall between July 6 and 8. 

West Uttar Pradesh is expected to receive widespread rainfall from July 8 to 10, and east Uttar Pradesh from July 7 to 10.

East Rajasthan is also likely to witness very heavy rainfall from July 4 to 7. 

In central India, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and west Madhya Pradesh during July 4-10.

Till July 7, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are expected over east and west Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. 

West Madhya Pradesh is also likely to experience isolated extremely heavy rainfall today, July 4.

In eastern India, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim throughout July 4-10.

Jharkhand and Odisha are expected to receive widespread rainfall until July 8. 

Bihar is likely to witness isolated to fairly widespread rainfall during the entire forecast period.
