Siya Goyal, who was arrested over the murder of her fiance Ketan Agarwal, had once told her brother Sahil Goyal that she was happy when she is with her co-accused Chetan Chaudhary, but added that she was also confused about their "friendship".

Speaking in an interview with NewsDotz, Sahil said, "She never said there was a relationship. She said she didn't know what it was. She said they were friends and she was happy when they were together," Sahil recalled.

Sahil added that she also told him that "we might get engaged, or married... It was too early to say anything."

Speaking to the interviewer, he further said, "It was just confusion... I had told her, ‘You are very young. You may think friendship is love, which is also fine. Whatever you decide is okay. If you want to go ahead with Ketan, this will be our secret.’ If she had told me she wanted to go ahead with Chetan, I would have spoken to my parents. We could have called off the engagement."

He revealed that police questioned him for 10 to 12 hours and that he was cooperating with the authorities.

Sahil said Siya told him that she wanted to go ahead with the marriage with Ketan, adding that she did not want to continue her relationship with Chetan and that she would not keep in touch with him. He added that Siya was busy planning the locations and songs for the pre-wedding shoot with Ketan and hence he did not feel the need to tell their parents about Chetan.

Ketan, a Pune-based realtor, was allegedly pushed to death from a cliff at the Lohagad Fort on June 18 by Siya and Chetan. Ketan and Siya were set to marry in Udaipur in November this year. Both Siya and Chetan have been arrested and remanded in police custody till July 3.

Ketan's father Vishal Agarwal mentioned in his complaint that his son was concerned about Siya's closeness to co-accused Chetan Chaudhary, saying she often mentioned his name during their conversations.

Ketan reportedly expressed suspicion that Siya was having an affair with someone but his family reassured him that there was probably nothing to worry about as both families are related.
