A triple homicide occurred in a Bengaluru apartment where parents Somasundar, 55, and Muthulakshmi, 48, along with their 19-year-old daughter Supriya, were found stabbed to death on Monday night. Authorities are actively searching for the couple's elder daughter, Shwetha, and her boyfriend, Kenneth, whom they suspect are responsible for the murders. Preliminary investigations suggest the killings stemmed from the family's opposition to Shwetha's live-in relationship with Kenneth, a relationship she had been involved in for two months. Additional tension may have arisen from Shwetha's significant debt of approximately 30 lakh, which her parents had reportedly questioned her about. Investigators believe Shwetha and Kenneth may have visited the apartment on Monday, leading to an argument with Muthulakshmi, who was allegedly killed first with a machete-like weapon. After cleaning bloodstains, they are suspected to have then attacked Supriya and Somasundar, with Kenneth assisting in the assault. Somasundar reportedly managed to leave the premises to seek help before succumbing to his injuries. While the exact sequence of events and motive are still under verification, police have arrested one individual in connection with the case.

Three members of a family, parents and 19-year-old daughter, were found stabbed to death inside their Bengaluru apartment Monday night.

Police have launched a manhunt for the couple's elder daughter and her boyfriend.

The victims were identified as Somasundar, 55, his wife Muthulakshmi, 48 and their daughter Supriya.

Police suspect that they were killed by their elder daughter, Shwetha and her boyfriend, Kenneth, who are reportedly in a live-in relationship.

The accused are absconding.

Saidulu Adavath, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Whitefield. “Police teams are working to trace the accused. Further details will be shared after the arrests are made and the investigation progresses.”

According to a preliminary investigation, Shwetha had been living with Kenneth for the past two months.

Police say the family opposed their relationship and that it led to the killing.

The murders took place at Sai Green Apartment, Dhamanik Layout, Seegehalli, under the KR Puram police station limits on Monday.

Investigators are probing whether the murders were preplanned and whether Shwetha and Kenneth acted together.

Police also found that Shwetha had a debt of nearly 30 lakh. Police sources said that her parents questioned her about her debts, leading to tensions in the family.

Police also suspect that Shwetha and Kenneth visited the family on Monday when only her mother was present at the home. Officials think that her mother was killed first after an argument broke out between them. She was reportedly attacked with a machete-like weapon, which killed her.

The accused reportedly washed the bloodstain before her father and sister returned home. It is believed that the accused attacked her sister and then assaulted her father with the help of Kenneth, who used the weapon.

Somasundar reportedly managed to run out of the house and sought help before he died.

The bodies of the victims have been sent for a post-mortem.

Police are searching for both the accused. The exact motive and sequence of events are being verified. Police said that they arrested one person in relation to the case, but the details have not been shared so far.
