The 5053-page chargesheet in the sensational murder of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal reveals shocking details about how the main accused, Siya Goyal, initially planned to leave Agarwal handicapped, but later decided to murder him.

Agarwal died after being pushed off Lohagad Fort on June 18 by his fiancée Siya Goyal, her alleged lover, Chetan Choudhary, and   Ritesh Hange, according to the chargesheet filed by the police in a Pune court on Saturday.

Police said digital analysis revealed that the accused had used a fake Instagram account created in the name of 'Mahi' to convince Ketan to take Siya to Lohagad fort on June 18, the day of the murder. Ritesh Hange planned the entire thing and used a photograph of a girl known to them for the fake account. “Mahi” acted like she was a friend of Siya and kept pushing Ketan to bring her to the Lohagad for a surprise birthday party. “I am Mahi, Siya's best friend. We want to celebrate Siya's birthday at Lohagad Fort and surprise her. Please bring Siya to the fort quietly," she wrote.

The account was deleted after the murder, the official said.

The accused watched numerous crime films and listened to murder podcasts to prepare for the murder and evade police arrest. They also studied the infamous Raja Raghuvanshi murder case that occurred in Meghalaya in May 2025, in which Raja's wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, had her husband murdered during their honeymoon.

The chargesheet also described how Siya and Chetan conducted a recce of several areas, including Tiger Point in Lonavala. They noticed that Tiger Point lacked CCTV cameras. However, they chose Lohagad Fort because in March 2025, a 21-year-old woman named Navi Sangvi had died after falling from Lohagad. The accused felt it would be easier to prove Ketan's death at the same location as an accident that occurred while taking a selfie.

Ketan and Siya were going to Bali for a pre-wedding shoot. On June 4, Siya insisted on going to Lohagad. On June 6, Siya tore Ketan's passport and threw it in the washroom of a cafe in  Khalapur to prevent him from going to Bali. The first attempt was made on June 14 at Lohagad. Siya tried to shove Ketan, pretending she saw a snake. She planned to direct Ketan towards the edge of the ditch, but this failed, the chargesheet alleged.

Chaudhary allegedly entered the fort through an exit route and waited near a temple, and Goyal signalled him to move ahead, the official said.

"When Agarwal was not alert, Goyal allegedly pushed him from behind near the shoulder, while Chaudhary pushed his leg. Chaudhary then kicked Agarwal, causing him to fall from the fort to his death," he said.
