According to Marathi news reports, Uzair Khan and Ayan Ahmed "competed" to trap more girls than the other. They often wanted to keep their personal tally higher than the other and thus tried to lure more and more girls. As if to prove a point and instigate him, Ayan often sent video recordings of his sexual crimes to Uzair, TV9 Kannada said in a report.

As a result, Uzair had access to all of Ayan’s photos and videos. However, over the course of time, a monetary dispute erupted between them, which escalated. This resulted in Uzair purposefully leaking photos and videos of Ayan’s crimes on social media, the TV9 Kannada report stated. These videos reportedly circulated in the Paratwada area for about 10 days before locals took notice, leading to the exposure of the case.

The flat in the Kathora Naka area, where the main accused, Ayan, allegedly carried out the exploitation, has been sealed by the police. It is said that his YouTube channel made him a familiar face among young women, which made it easier for him to initiate conversations. He reportedly lured women to the flat after initial conversations over social media for meet-ups.

The accused also confessed that he had been involved in the crime for the past year. The names of seven of the victims were exposed publicly, according to reports. Police are now trying to identify the survivors.
