Prime Video has confirmed that superstar Rajinikanth’s action-comedy blockbuster "Jailer 2" is set to make its digital debut on November 12, 2026, on Amazon Prime Video. The film will be available to audiences worldwide in five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.

The OTT release of the Nelson Dilipkumar movie comes exactly 28 days after the film’s theatrical premiere on October 15. During its theatrical run, "Jailer 2" created box office history, earning an impressive ₹823.45 crore worldwide within its first 22 days, overtaking Rajinikanth's — and Tamil cinema's — previous #1 record-holder, Shankar's "2.0", which earned ₹691 crore, to become the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time.

According to trade reports by Sacnilk, the film collected ₹546.95 crore in India, including a net collection of ₹467.65 crore. Tamil Nadu contributed ₹210.45 crore by Day 18, while overseas markets added ₹276.50 crore, accounting for around 33.6% of its worldwide earnings.

The film enjoyed a remarkable opening, crossing the ₹600 crore mark worldwide within just eight days. However, its daily collections and screen count have started to decline in the last few days. Increased competition from major Diwali releases, including "Ramayana: Rise of a Legend", Suriya’s "Scene" and Nayanthara’s "Mookuthi Amman 2", has affected its theatrical performance.

Meanwhile, there could be exciting news for fans awaiting the digital premiere. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the OTT version may include an extended cut with up to 30 minutes of additional footage. This could feature previously unseen scenes, including extra appearances by special guests Mohanlal and Vijay Sethupathi. The makers haven't yet said anything official on the same.
