The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has expressed confidence in securing a majority with over 80 seats in the Kerala Assembly. According to the party’s preliminary internal assessments, high-profile LDF ministers—including Roshi Augustine, Veena George, and M.B. Rajesh—are facing significant headwinds and could potentially lose their respective seats.

The UDF leadership anticipates that their seat count could surge even higher if a favourable electoral swing happens in the crucial districts of Alappuzha, Thrissur, and Palakkad—areas currently witnessing intense triangular battles.

The UDF anticipates a strong showing in the capital, aiming to hold Kovalam and capture Vattiyoorkavu, Thiruvananthapuram, Neyyattinkara, and Aruvikkara. In the critical 'three-cornered' battles of Kazhakootam and Nemom, candidates T. Sarathchandra Prasad and K.S. Sabarinadhan expect to emerge ahead by slim margins despite the BJP's influence in the constituencies.

UDF is confident of retaining Karunagappally and Kundara in Kollam district.

In Alappuzha district, Left rebel G. Sudhakaran is projected to win Ambalappuzha in a landslide. Meanwhile, expectations remain high for the UDF in Aroor and Kuttanad, where the alliance hopes for significant gains.

The party hopes to win Puthuppally, Kottayam, Kaduthuruthy, Poonjar and Changanassery with a good majority. In Pala, Mani C. Kappan has the upper hand.

The party's internal assessment in Idukki indicates a potential upset for Minister Roshi Augustine, projecting a defeat in his home constituency. Conversely, the UDF remains confident in Thodupuzha, expecting to retain the seat with a commanding majority.

In Pathanamthitta, there are strong hopes for Konni, while Minister Veena George is expected to lose in Aranmula, say the party estimates.

In Ernakulam, the UDF pins high hopes on all 13 seats except Kalamassery. Vypin, Kochi, Tripunithura and Kothamangalam constituencies witnessed tight contests.

In Thrissur district, the UDF expects to wrest Chalakudy, Thrissur and Manalur seats. The Congress is confident that it will win the Palakkad seat and predicts a defeat for Minister M.B. Rajesh in Thrithala.

In Kozhikode, the party keeps strong hopes in Kuttiadi, Koyilandy, Nadapuram, Koduvally, Kozhikode South and Vadakara. It believes that a strong UDF wave could help the party win Kozhikode North, Perambra, Beypore and Kunnamangalam constituencies.
