A new investigation by National Commission for Scheduled Tribes into the viral Kumbh mela sensation Monalisa Bhosale has revealed that she was only 16 years and 2 months at the time of her marriage.
On March 11, she was put in the spotlight again after she married Uttar Pradesh resident Farman Khan in Kerala.
The wedding, held at Arumanoor Nainar Temple in Thiruvananthapuram on March 11, gained public attention and scrutiny, including claims of love jihad due to claims made by her family and certain groups.
The couple had to appear publicly two days after the wedding to deny allegations and say that Monalisa's marriage was consensual.
However, the NCST has reportedly found discrepancies again.
Hospital records from Madhya Pradesh show that Monalisa was born on December 30, 2009, which would make her a minor during the marriage.
NCST has summoned top police officials from Madhya Pradesh and Kerala, seeking detailed reports. They also called the local authorities involved in registering the marriage for further clarification.

Monalisa's father, Jai Singh Bhosale, petitioned the NCST with social activist Pratham Dubey, alleging his daughter was forced into an interfaith marriage.
Meanwhile, director Sanoj Mishra, who was accused of sexual harassment by Monalisa, called Farman a jihadi and said that he would go to jail.
He called Monalisa a victim of love jihad and that she was trapped and forced into the marriage.
"Then, the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, Delhi, conducted an investigation. It proved that Monalisa was a minor. The Commission expressed concern over the involvement of the PFI and CPI(M) in the marriage of Monalisa and Farman. The Commission stated that a false narrative has been spread."
"The narrative of love is false. The Aadhaar card, which stated Monalisa's age as 18, is fake. Monalisa was born in December 2009 at a government hospital in Maheshwar. Based on this, a case has been registered against Jihadi Farman under several sections. The Commission has summoned the DGP of Madhya Pradesh,” Mishra said.
