The final day of the 2026 Global Spirituality Mahotsav in Auroville featured engaging sessions centred on Sri Aurobindo’s fifth and final dream; the advancement of human consciousness to a higher supramental level.

Dr Alok Pandey, psychiatrist, scholar and author, recalled that someone once asked Sri Aurobindo why the divine had given mankind such a long rope. “Sri Aurobindo replied, ‘There was no other way to make him a Superman’,” Pandey said.

He said that the divine does not consult humanity while governing the world. “The divine does not work according to our ideas. We must discover what the divine intends. Sri Aurobindo’s fifth dream is crucial; without it, the other dreams will not endure,” he said.

Dr Pandey is widely recognised for interpreting some of the difficult works of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, including ‘The Life Divine and Savitri’, which is one of the epic masterpieces of Sri Aurbindo.

In another session, Swami Brahmdev of the Aurovalley Ashram, located on the banks of Ganga near Rishikesh, spoke about his spiritual journey. He has dedicated his life to living and sharing the legacy of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. He described how he consults The Mother in his daily life. “She guides me and helps me whenever I am in doubt,” he said.

Aurovalley Ashram, he said, promotes the teachings of The Mother. “Aurovalley is the baby of Auroville. We now have residents from many countries,” Swami Brahmdev said.

Indian-American hotelier H.P. Rama, the founder of Auro Hotels and founding chairman of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association, also addressed the gathering. A devoted follower of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, Rama spoke about the continuing relevance of their teachings. “Sri Aurobindo said there are many possibilities within each impossibility,” he noted.

Rama also spoke about AURO University, which he established in Surat in Gujarat. “Next year, on around 300 acres of land in South Carolina, where I am based, we will open an Integral Life Centre to promote the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother,” he said.
