The Unnao rape case survivor expressed satisfaction over the Supreme Court staying the Delhi High Court order suspending the life sentence of convict Kuldeep Sengar and expressed her full faith in the justice system.
The Supreme Court, on Monday, stayed the Delhi High Court order that had suspended Sengar's life sentence and granted him bail in the 2017 Unnao rape case. Hearing a plea filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which had challenged the high court's decision, the apex court also issued a notice to Sengar, directing him to file his response.
The survivor said she will continue her fight till Sengar is given a death sentence.

"I am very happy with this decision. I have got justice from the Supreme Court. I have been raising my voice for justice from the very beginning," the survivor told news agency PTI over the phone from Delhi.
"I do not make any allegations against any court. I have faith in all courts, but the Supreme Court has given me justice and will continue to do so," she said.
The survivor's mother also thanked the apex court, saying the SC had ensured justice. She further said her family and lawyers need security.
"My family needs security. Our advocates need security. I request that the government keep us all safe. I always used to say that I had faith in the Supreme Court. The two judges of the high court did us an injustice. They broke my faith in the high court," news agency ANI quoted her as saying.
Mehmood Pracha, advocate for the Unnao rape case survivor, however, said this should not be called a victory.
"I can assure the victims that we have got a small relief. This should not be called a victory, but we have got a little time to breathe. The CBI took a stand on a very limited point and did not raise our strongest grounds of argument. The CBI did not consult us at all," he said.
Pracha said there was so much evidence in favour of the victim that any court would have given a verdict in her favour, reported ANI.
"The court did not hear us on the main merits... The CBI did not make us a party in this case. We cannot treat this judgment as a victory for the victim."
