A meeting between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy D.K. Shivakumar is underway at the former's residence in Bengaluru on Saturday morning to resolve the ongoing power tussle that has plunged the Congress party in the state into a deep crisis.
Following the meeting, Shivakumar is likely to travel to Delhi and meet party president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi.

The CM and the Deputy CM decided to meet for breakfast as per the advice of the party high command, as the buzz over leadership change escalated in recent weeks, especially after November 20, when the state government completed two and a half years in office.
At the heart of the dispute is a purported power-sharing agreement made in 2023 between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar. Media reports and Shivakumar's loyalists claim that, as per the agreement, he would be made the chief minister once the government completed the halfway mark.
Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah maintained that he will abide by whatever decision the high command takes.
"The high command has called both of us. So I have invited him (Shivakumar) for breakfast, and we will talk there. As I said earlier, I will accept whatever the high command says; there is no change in my stand," the chief minister said on Friday.
Shivakumar, too, reiterated his loyalty to the party and said he would accept any decision the high command takes regarding leadership change in Karnataka.
The two leaders have been taking veiled jibes at each other over the past few days on social media, mounting pressure on the high command to intervene.
On Thursday, Shivakumar, in a cryptic remark, said the word power is world power and that keeping a promise is a big power move. Siddaramaiah retorted indirectly, saying a word is not power unless it betters the world.
