PM Modi visits Red Fort blast victims; reiterates his promise to bring conspirators to justice

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited survivors of the Red Fort blast at LNJP Hospital in Delhi, wishing them a speedy recovery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, met survivors of the Red Fort blast soon after his return from Bhutan. According to media reports, Modi went straight to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital in Delhi, interacted with the injured, and wished them a speedy recovery.

A high-intensity blast ripped through a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening, killing 12 people and injuring several others.

"Went to LNJP Hospital and met those injured during the blast in Delhi. Praying for everyone’s quick recovery," the PM said, and reiterated that those behind the "conspiracy" will be brought to justice.

On Tuesday, while addressing a gathering in Thimphu of Bhutan, PM Modi had said the Delhi blast had shocked everyone and added that the entire nation stands with the families of the victims.

I understand the plight of those affected by the blast, the PM had said, adding that "All those responsible for it will be brought to justice."

The prime minister said throughout Monday night, he was in touch with the probe agencies investigating the blast.

"Today, I come here with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply saddened everyone. I understand the grief of the affected families. The entire nation stands with them. I was in touch with all the agencies probing the incident," Modi said on Tuesday.

"Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared," he added.
