The National Democratic Alliance has intensified its campaign for the final phase of Bihar assembly election, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducting back-to-back campaigns in the poll-bound state.
Addressing back-to-back rallies in Aurangabad and Bhabhua, the prime minister said the record voter turnout during the first phase of Bihar polls was proof of the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party-Janata Dal (United) led alliance. Modi claimed the voters have reposed their trust in the "track record of Narendra and Nitish".
Saying the voters have not been "misled" by the false promises of Mahagathbandhan, Modi said people voted in favour of NDA's good governance in the state. "Even the Congress, despite being an ally, is not trusting the RJD's promises made in their manifesto," claimed Modi.
Targeting Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, Modi said the return of "jungle raj" regime meant the return of Naxal insurgents and violence.
The prime minister charged that during the first nine years of Nitish Kumar's tenure as chief minister, he faced non-cooperation from the then Congress-led UPA government in the Centre. "They tried to take revenge on the people of Bihar," alleged Modi.
