Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ Abhiyaan—a fortnight-long nationwide health and nutrition campaign—from Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar on Wednesday.

Modi will also launch the eighth National Nutritional Month and several other development initiatives to mark his 75th birthday.

The ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ campaign will be held from September 17 to October 2.

"More than one lakh health camps will be organised, making this the largest ever health outreach for women and children in the country. Daily health camps will be held in all government health facilities nationwide," said an official statement.

The campaign is being jointly implemented by the Ministry of Women & Child Development and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. A special drive for registration under PMMVY will form an integral part of this campaign to support pregnant and lactating women across the nation.

“It will strengthen screening, early detection, and treatment linkages for non-communicable diseases, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease, while also promoting maternal, child, and adolescent health through antenatal care, immunisation, nutrition, menstrual hygiene, lifestyle and mental health awareness activities,” said the statement.

The National Nutritional Month will be celebrated from September 17 to October 16. The government said it will ensure full integration of Nutritional Month activities with the health campaign through its extensive network of Anganwadi Centres, mobilising women and adolescent girls.

The health ministry will lead the delivery of preventive, promotive, and curative services through health camps and health facilities across the nation, said the statement.

In Dhar, the prime minister will also transfer funds under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana directly into the bank accounts of eligible women across the country.

Modi will launch the Suman Sakhi Chatbot to raise awareness on maternal and child health. The chatbot will provide timely and accurate information to pregnant women in rural and remote areas, ensuring access to essential health services.
