The monorail is being operated by the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) which has not yet made any statement.
Ward Councillor Rajesh Bhojane urged the Maharashtra government to resolve the issue, which he says is happening repeatedly.
“Monorail officials are saying that it was a supply issue. I urge the government to resolve this recurring issue," he said.
Two similar incidents occurred in August when two monorail trains broke down at different locations in the city due to a power supply failure.
Hundreds of passengers were safely evacuated in the rescue operations carried out by the Mumbai Fire Brigade.
More than twenty passengers had taken treatment after suffering from suffocation during the incident.
