Malayalam writer Honey Bhaskaran on Thursday accused Congress MLA from Kerala's Palakkad, Rahul Mamkootathil, of obscene conduct and making derogatory remarks about her. This comes after Malayalam actor Rini Ann George accused a young politician of sexting her without naming the person.
Honey claimed that Rahul, the Kerala Youth Congress president, tried to initiate a conversation with her on social media but later told his peers that she messaged him first and twisted his conversation with her in lewd ways.
“He talks about women he has chatted with, ridicules them in male company, and spins vulgar tales. This is not just misconduct, it's psychological perversion," Onmanorama quoted her as saying.
Honey went on to claim that Rahul has reached out many other women who she knows personally, adding that more victims will file complaints. "He tells every woman that she is the only one he loves, while saying the same to others. Some of my friends have experienced it themselves," she claimed.
The writer also alleged that Rahul is being protected by Congress MP Shafi Parambil who has not taken any action despite receiving complaints. Though she ruled out moving legally, she dared Rahul to file defamation case against her.
Rini Ann George, who is known for appearing in 916 Kunjoottan, was the first one to raise allegations against a young politician though she declined to name the leader. She clarified that she did not suffer any assault but received offensive messages. However, she said she forward after learning that other women have faced harassment and this prompted her to speak up.
She revealed that she first received inappropriate messages from the politician three years ago following which he invited her to a place to spend time with him. She alleged that the politician has a "who cares" attitide when she said she would complain about him.
Responding to Rini's allegations, Rahul claimed that the actress was not referring to him and has not revealed the identity of the accused.
